About us

Lt. Parkash Memorial Deaf and Handicapped Children Welfare Centre (Regd.), Ropar is a non-political, non-profit, and secular NGO dedicated to the welfare and empowerment of deaf and specially-abled individuals. Since its establishment in 2007, our foundation has been committed to providing technical training and quality education to help these children become self-reliant and integrate seamlessly into mainstream society.

Our School for Deaf Children was founded in 2007 and is currently led by our dedicated Chairperson, Mrs. Adarsh Sharma. The school operates in a spacious building with ample open space for children to play and learn in a nurturing environment.

🌟 Our Goal

  • To provide free, quality education and vocational training to children with hearing and physical disabilities.

  • To foster self-reliance, confidence, and social integration through customized teaching methods and therapies.

  • To develop a strong foundation for academic, emotional, and physical growth through modern infrastructure and dedicated staff.

  • To advocate for the rights and inclusion of differently-abled individuals in mainstream society.

  • To build partnerships with families, professionals, and communities to ensure holistic development and lifelong success for our students.

🎯 Our Mission

To empower deaf and differently-abled children through inclusive education, life skills training, and compassionate care. We are dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where every child, regardless of their abilities, receives the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive with dignity and independence.

We strive to break barriers, eliminate stigma, and promote equal opportunities by providing specialized support, accessible learning tools, and community engagement that uplifts every child’s potential.

Every meal is thoughtfully planned by nutrition experts to support physical growth, cognitive development, and overall well-being.

The dining space is clean, well-ventilated, and monitored to maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety. Meals are served in a calm, supervised environment, where students learn proper dining etiquette, table manners, and the importance of gratitude for food.

We offer a diverse menu featuring both traditional and seasonal dishes that are rich in taste and nutrition. Special attention is given to children with specific dietary needs or allergies, ensuring that every student is well cared for.

The mess is not just a place to eatβ€”it’s a place to build community. Shared meals create opportunities for interaction, friendship, and bonding, helping to instill a sense of belonging among students. From breakfast to dinner, we make sure every bite is wholesome, safe, and full of care.

⚽ Playground

An open and inclusive space designed to support the physical, emotional, and social development of our students. Our playground offers a safe and vibrant environment where children can freely express themselves through play and movement.

Equipped with age-appropriate play structures, sports gear, and open areas for running, jumping, and exploring, the playground encourages a wide range of recreational and sporting activities. Whether it’s football, cricket, track events, or group games, every activity is structured to build physical strength, agility, coordination, and motor skills.

Beyond physical benefits, the playground plays a vital role in nurturing social skills. Here, students learn teamwork, leadership, respect for others, and how to handle wins and losses with grace. Our staff ensures a safe and supervised setting, allowing every child to participate confidently and inclusively, regardless of ability level.

Playtime is a joyful break from the classroom, a chance to recharge and connect with peers, and an essential part of the holistic development we aim for. At our school, the playground is more than just a fieldβ€”it’s a foundation for lifelong fitness, friendships, and fun.

πŸ—£οΈ Speech Therapy Room

A nurturing, quiet, and purposefully designed environment where students receive focused attention to enhance their communication abilities. Our speech therapy room is more than just a spaceβ€”it’s a hub of transformation where every word, gesture, and sound matters.

Led by certified and experienced speech-language therapists, this space supports both one-on-one and group therapy sessions tailored to individual needs. Each session is customized to target specific areas such as articulation, fluency, voice modulation, auditory processing, receptive and expressive language development, and non-verbal communication.

Equipped with age-appropriate learning aids, visual cues, interactive software, audio tools, and other assistive technologies, the room enables multisensory engagement. The calm and friendly atmosphere allows students to feel comfortable and confident as they explore and build their communication skills at their own pace.

The therapy process is holistic, involving observation, assessment, intervention, and continuous progress tracking. Parents and teachers are also guided to reinforce learning beyond the therapy sessions, ensuring consistent support.

At our school, we believe communication is a right, not a privilege. Our speech therapy room is dedicated to giving every student the voice, confidence, and tools they need to express themselves and connect with the world.
